Tray icons


HDD Guardian tray icon
When HDD Guardian is hidden or closed into the tray area, appear a program icon that varies following this scheme:
  • all-ok.png this is the basic icon that normally appears: the blue shield indicates that all installed devices are in a good state;
  • some-problems.png when the shield of the basic icon become red, means that at least one device is failing;
  • update-ok.png this is a variation of the basic icon: all devices are in a good state, and a new version of HDD Guardian is available;
  • update-ko.png this icon reports that a new version of HDD Guardian is available, but at least one device is failing.
HDD Guardian tray icon support three mouse gestures:
  1. left button click: restore the main program window;
  2. center button click: update attributes for all devices;
  3. right button click: display the context menu, whre you can choose to restore the main window or exit from HDD Guardian.

Devices tray icons
Devices tray icon varies in base of temperatures and health verifications: the temperature font color is blue up to 49°C, becomes yellow until reach 50°C and then is red from 55°C. The line at the bottom is green if the device have passed the health verification and becomes red if the device is failing. The following images represents some samples of devices tray icons:

Tray icons supports two mouse gestures:
  1. left button click: restore the main program window;
  2. center button click: update attributes for all devices.

In addition to that, if the option is enalbed (see Context menu help page for more informations), and only when HDD Guardian is minimized, when you move your mouse over devices tray icons, you can see an info panel about selected device with a little range of informations.
