SATA devices

This page is divided in four sections.

Manufacturer and model
Here is visible the logo of manufacturer and a link to his web site, the model family (if available) and device model.

Device
Here are visible information about selected device, like the serial number, device World Wide Name, the firmware version, total disk size, the sector size, the rotation rate (if available), the form factor (if available), the ATA version and standard, the interface type and the S.M.A.R.T. ability availability and if is enabled.
Some of these information are not available for all units, like the World Wide Name or, with very old devices, the S.M.A.R.T. capability.

Smartctl database
This section display if selected device is into smartctl database: if is an unknown device, is possible that some S.M.A.R.T. parameters are not readed correctly, so a good option is to submit the new device to Smartmontools team to add your device to database.
If your drive is not in database, the link "Update smartctl database" is available and allows you to update it. After the operaton is done you have to click on reload button ad the right side of devices list.

Warnings
At the bottom of the page you can also see eventual warnings about selected device.

SCSI devices

For SCSI devices this page is divided in only two sections.

Manufacturer and product
Here is visible the logo of manufacturer and a link to his web site and the product identification.

Device
Here are visible information about selected device, like the revision number, the serial number, the logical unit ID, total disk size, the logical block size, the rotation rate (if available), the transport protocol and the S.M.A.R.T. ability availability and if is enabled.
