USB HDD not recognized

Mar 8, 2016 at 4:20 AM
XIMETA external HDD (IDE-ATA) adapter, USB connection. It can be fast recognized by any Windows (from XP to Win8), with a 160GB HDD running. This XIMETA adapter could be used via USB or Ethernet with proprietary protocol, but the USB is standard. HDD Guardian can not recognize this USB HDD. Running on Windows 8.1 64 bits. It recognizes perfectly the internal Sata HDDs. Below the Toolbox.Exe report for External Adapters:

Hi,

Try to update smartctl database from File -> Update Smartctl database and then, when the process is finished, click on Rescan external devices.
If this don't work, provide me the output of the second panel of utility Toolbox, the one that search for unknown USB devices; after that, if possible, I can provide you an update!

Thanks,
Sam

Hey Sam, thank you for the support.
Made the update, still the problem.
Run the Toolbox again, the second tab (USB Scan) shows the following, it was way over 1000 characters, so I removed the local HDD information, still larger but I guess what you want is at the start, if not, you can see the full data at guidetrack dot com slash extusb slash EXTUSB.TXT

Unfortunately the USB interface of your Ximeta device can't allow to reach device SMART data (the third tab of Toolbox gather data directly from Windows Management Instrumentation and is useful only to correct issues of HDD Guardian "System" page); on top of all Ximeta's domain is expired, so it's highly probable that this manufacturer is now closed...

I'm sorry, but in this case I can't do nothing... :/

Greetings,
Sam
