Storage Spaces

Hi,
I have a 2 drives in a Prolific USB enclosure, that smartctl on Windows Server 2012 r2 can see fine on /dev/sdab and /dev/sdac (with -d usbprolific)
The storage space controller is /dev/sdad
Unfortunately the drives aren't showing up in HDD guardian. I think Smartctl can't detect their usbid because there aren't any logical drives on them per se.

Is there a way to force sdab and sdac to appear in HDDGuardian or something?

Hi!

It seems that is the time for me to update HDD Guardian package (also the Toolbox utility) with the last version of smartctl...
Please, wait a little since I have to provide you an updated build of Toolbox bundled with the new smartctl; after that, when you provide me his output, I can make an unofficial update of smartctl database for you!

Thanks,
Sam

I've uploaded here the last build, tell me the results of the Toolbox utility! ;)

Unfortunately because Windows has not assigned a drive to SDD and SDC (due to being part of a storage space) smartctl cannot retrieve the usb device id. I have to manually specify -usbprolific with them :)

This is a very misfortune! :(

Unfortunately at the moment HDD Guardian can't provide a way to add such drives, but if you let me a little time I can add this feature too on the next preview build! ;)

Hi!

Work done! :D
I've uploaded here the last build: you can add your devices using the option on File -> Settings -> Device detection page (I've written a little how-to on the page); tell me if it works! ;)

Thanks,
Sam
